Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone,

Meditation
Placeholder for September 8 meditation … to be updated on October 9, 2021.
Judges 19 is a tough chapter, in terms of how women are treated, and at this hour of the day, I will say no more. In Judges 20, God tells the Israelites they will succeed, in battle, against the Benjamin’s, but not at what cost. The Israelites do win, but at the loss of 30,000 men. God may give us a task, purpose, or vision, and promise success, but we may have no idea of the cost. We see a glimpse of that, when Jesus prepared to sacrifice His life, to pay our debt of sin. He knew the outcome, yet He still struggled with the pain, suffering, leaving His families and friends.
