Placeholder for September 16 meditation … to be updated on October 17, 2021.
The verses in Samuel 3 made me think that none of us is indispensable. It’s easy for me, as I am busy with so many things, to think how important those things are, to stress when I fall behind, to worry about ministry deadlines coming up, to feel the weight of responsibility. And yet, when Eli heard he was to be removed from his position, he accepted it. God raised up Samuel, spoke to Him instead, and a new prophet led Israel. The most important thing, in managing responsibilities, and multi-tasking, is to prioritize and always put my relationship with Him first, so that I can be close enough to Him to hear His voice. If I don’t do that, He can raise others to manage the ministry I currently coordinate. I am not indispensable. It is a privilege to serve Him, and to share that with others He may raise to help. I need to remember that.
