Meditation
Again, no updates.
I have to confess that I have very mixed feelings about “failing” to get a devotional meditation written. Since it’s clear that I’m not going to be able to finish my writing in one calendar year, I’m trying not to stress about going at a slower pace (even when I’m not yet working full time). Today I’ve been busy with family matters as well as with job search activities. I’ve written a little bit, but the meditation is not finished. I could push more, but since I also have a headache I’ve decided not to do that. So, hopefully tomorrow you’ll get the August 30th meditation.
By the way, I do plan to take Sunday off. So unless I get two meditations done tomorrow, then you’ll be missing one on Sunday too. 🙂
Placeholder for October 2 meditation … to be updated as soon as possible.
Psalm 91:14 reads “I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name.” What a contrast with the verses in Luke, where Peter is warned he will deny Jesus 3 times. The disciples started by discussing who, among their 12, would betray Jesus. But it descends into an argument over which of them is greatest. How easily they (and I), are distracted by personal issues. And yet Jesus still willingly became the sacrifice, to purchase our life. Even when I’m reading His word, I’m so easily distracted. Lord give us energy, stamina, focus, and the desire to fix our eyes on You. Fill our hearts with longing to be in Your presence, set our minds on You, and may that spill over onto those we come in contact with. Amen
