Today’s verses in II Samuel again are such a comprehensive example of lives wasted over animosity and seeking fame and fortune. There are so many applications to our world today: family’s not speaking, people committing suicide over other’s rejection of them, ignoring truth and ethics to instead seek glory and riches. Even though we think we are so much more civilized now, human nature has not changed since the fall in Eden. Only the Lord can renew our hearts and restore us to the people He created us to be.
