  • Reading in Nehemiah, it occurred to me that the Jewish leaders must have routinely let decades pass without communally reading the law. Over and over again, in scripture, we read of the men taking foreign wives, then casting them aside when the law was again enforced. Of course, they didn’t have scripture available in the home. But it also shows the teachings weren’t passed down from parents to children, men chose to marry attractive women from outside Judaism, and then their children were given a filtered view of God, even if they did go to Temple regularly. I can hardly wait until the prophecies of Revelation are fulfilled. It will be forever sweet, but tinged with the bitter taste of the rebellion of humans over the 🌎.
